Updates on the Papineau Numérique Project – May 2020

Partial resumption of work—COVID-19

Field work on the Papineau Numérique project, which was suspended a few weeks ago to ensure the health and safety of all workers during a health crisis, will be able to gradually resume given the partial lifting of the Legault government’s containment requirements.

Field surveyors will return to the RCM territory. Field surveys are used to assess the condition of the poles and support structures. This inspection is necessary to obtain access rights to the poles. To date, more than 20% of the surveys have been completed.

The RCM and the project office are currently planning visits to project sites, which have also been delayed due to the crisis. Each site where equipment will be installed will be visited in order to evaluate the work needed.
